MBLAQ’s G.O. Close to Joining So Ji Sub and Lee Yeon Hee for New Drama "Ghost"

MBLAQ’s G.O. is close to joining the cast of new SBS drama “Ghost,” it was reported by local media on April 4.
According to OSEN, an SBS official said earlier today, “G.O. received the casting offer about a month ago. He passed the audition and even participated in a recent script reading session. He’s planning to start filming in late April.”
But MBLAQ’s agency declined to confirm the casting, as they only said, “It’s true that we received the offer for ‘Ghost,’ but nothing has been finalized. Since the contract is not completed, it’s difficult for us to comment on the situation.”
“Ghost” is a TV series produced by Kim Hyun Shik, whose previous works include SBS dramas “Sign” and “Cain and Abel.” Other cast members confirmed so far include So Ji Sub, Lee Yeon Hee, Um Ki Joon, and Choi Daniel. “Ghost” will air in May following the end of “Rooftop Prince.”

It’s been confirmed. MBLAQ’s G.O. will star in his first drama “Ghost,” alongside So Ji Sub and Lee Yeon Hee. MBLAQ’s unit group, featuring G.O.-Mir, has been put on hold for the time being. Earlier today, a representative of J.Tunes Entertainment announced, “G.O. has been casted in ‘Ghost.’ As a result, the plans for a unit group have been temporarily postponed.”
The rep continued, “They’ve [G.O. and Mir] already completed recording their title song and were about to begin promotions. However, we have decided that G.O. would be able to showcase MBLAQ’s other potential through this drama, and hence we decided to go ahead with the drama. Many fans were excited with news of a subunit group, and we plan to present them with a more finalized, perfected subunit appearance.
Lee Yeon Hee will take on the role of Yoo Kang Mi, a beautiful, elite agent in the cyber crimes investigation unit. So Ji Sub will play Kim Woo Hyun, a cold-hearted, perfectionist detective also in the same cyber crimes investigation unit. G.O.’s role in “Ghost” has yet to be revealed. “Ghost” will premiere on SBS once Park Yoo Chun and Han Ji Min’s “Rooftop Prince,” ends mid-May.

MBLAQ’s G.O. has decided that he will be focusing on his debut as an actor and postpones his activities with the upcoming sub-unit from the group with fellow member Mir. It was announced that G.O. was chosen to be part of the new drama SBS “Phantom” and due to conflicting schedules and just not enough time, he has to let one project go.
J.Tune Camp said, “We already finished recording for the sub-unit’s new songs and we tried our best to make the project push through and more of a priority but since being chosen to be a cast of a drama and to have this as his debut as an actor is a unique opportunity we decided that it would be a better decision for his career to chose acting”. For the drama “Phantom”, G.O. will be acting alongside famous and veteran actors So Ji Sub and Lee Yeon Hee, so this is a huge opportunity for G.O. to show his other talents.
However, the project of the sub-unit is not yet over as J.Tune Camp said that they will be taking longer preparations for it and give this as a present to MBLAQ’s fans in the future.
